Monkey Mind is a three-piece pop-punk super-group consisting of Olga from The Toy Dolls, Crashed Out guitarist Lee Wright, and drummer Martin Payton from north-east ska-punks The Panic Report. Following a string of well received singles, recorded & mixed in-house at 6dB Studios, the band returned amidst the madness of the pandemic in 2021 to cut their debut, self-titled (& socially distanced) album, ahead of it’s release on Canadian record label ‘People Of Punk Rock Records‘.

“From start to finish Monkey Mind is full of energy, impressive playing and catchy songs, and while they’re hardly reinventing the wheel, the trio do manage to bring something fresh to the table. 8/10.“

“It’s a good time that won’t be denied. The musicianship and composition are spot on, the production is solid (lots of nice solid bass guitar and kick drum) and, at thirteen songs, it’s not over too quick, nor does it wear out its welcome.”

“If you read this far then I hope you have the same smile on your face that I do with each repeated listening of this album. This album seemed to have one mission statement, and that is to have fun. Each band member is playing very loose with artistic freedom. The core sound of Monkey Mind is undoubtedly power pop. Like many 90s commercial alt rock and punk bands such as Green Day and Weezer, the band sprinkles in pop punk and heavy metal.”
